Gedu (རྒིད་ འདུ sometimes Gaedu or Gaeddu) is a city of Western Bhutan.
To know
Perched on a hill, Gedu is at its best by observing it from afar at night when its rugged and uninspired architecture is softened by a ring of street lamps. Visitors are unlikely to linger in Gedu, but being the largest urban center among Phuentsholing is Thimphu or Paro, it is a convenient place for a mid-journey break.

Originally the city was developed to house people who worked at the local hydroelectric plant, the city is now home to a small college.

- 1 Wangkha Dam View Hotel (Close to the hydroelectric power station of Chhukha). It serves good Bhutanese food as well Indian in a truly beautiful location. Bhutanese dishes are not mentioned on the menu, but are served upon request. Try the spicy kuka.
