Great Plains (Great Plains in English) is the name of a geographical region of the United States of America.

The Great Plains (Great Plains) are a region largely covered by the North American prairie, a territory of prairies and steppes extending east of the Rocky Mountains in the United States, in the Canada and for a very small portion also in Mexico.
Geographical notes
This north to south area covers part of the Canadian provinces of Alberta, Saskatchewan is Manitoba, hence the American states of the Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming, Nebraska, Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma, New Mexico is Texas. In Canada, the term prairie (prairie), so that part of the region is most often referred to as the Canadian Prairies (Canadian Prairies).
The region is part of the Mississippi River drainage basin and in particular of its right (or west) tributaries, the main ones being: Missouri, Minnesota, Iowa, Des Moines, Arkansas and Red River.
