Gundolsheim is an Alsatian village located in the Alsace plain, near the Wine Route, with a breathtaking view of the Bollenberg.

Understand

Gundolsheim appears at VIIIe century as possession of the Etichonides, Dukes of Alsace in the Merovingian era. The village was probably surrounded by an enclosure in the Middle Ages. Two noble families each owned their castle from the XIIIe century, but there is no trace of these buildings today. The profile of the village and the Romanesque bell tower recall the medieval origins of Gundolsheim.
