The Hagertal is located in the landscape protection area Hefferthorn, Fellhorn, Sonnenberg in State of Tyrol. It connects the Kaiserwinkel with the Kitzbühel Alps. It has a length of 8 kilometers and an average width of 400 meters.
The peculiarity of this predominantly agricultural valley lies in its originality. The locals speak affectionately of the "Hoger" and by that they mean this fertile alpine valley through which the Großache and the Brunnbach flow. The centuries-old buildings with simple summer pastures and hay huts, which are mostly located in the middle of the valley floor, are particularly characteristic of this valley.
Regions
The Hagertal divides at the Hagerbrücke into a northern and a southern part. The shape of the valley is reminiscent of a funnel that narrows towards the north.
places
The northern Hagertal belongs to the municipality Kössen, the southern Hagertal to Kirchdorf in Tirol (Erpfendorf). The Kirchdorf districts of Wohlmuting and Taxerau are in the valley.
