  • Butler McCook House & Garden, 396 Main Street. The oldest house in the city, dates back to 1782. It has a beautiful and extensive collection of art and objects of the time as well as a magnificent garden.
  • Connecticut Historical Society Museum & Library. One of the oldest societies in the country and one of the most important libraries in the whole of New England.
