fishing

Fishing is easy in Brandenburg. Anyone who fishes non-coarse fish, e.g. carp, tench, bream, rudd, roach or barbel, does not need a fishing license, but the annual fishing fee must be paid and a fishing license purchased. A fishing license is required for predatory fish, the closed seasons must be observed and night fishing is not permitted. Day tickets and information on the fishing tax are available from the Brandenburg State Anglers' Association at 49 331-7430110 or at www.lav-bdg.de. At the fishing protection cooperative "Havel" Brandenburg e.G. you can get annual fishing cards, daily, weekly and monthly fishing cards on-line order, which you will be sent by post after payment or immediately on your smartphone. You can order the fishing tax online, but it will be sent by post and it is not yet possible to send it online.

There used to be a large number of fish in the Havel lakes, so the range of freshwater fish on offer in local restaurants is traditionally large. Havelzander is on almost every menu in Havelland. However, one should not assume that the pikeperch actually still comes from the Havel and would be caught by the local fisherman. Most of the fish on offer come from farms or from further away.

accommodation

There are some houseboat rentals available. The House boats are license-free and can be rented by anyone.
