North Holland - a province in the northwest The Netherlands with the capital of St. Haarlem. It has an area of 4,091.76 km² and in 2012 it had 2,719,764 inhabitants. The largest city is Amsterdam.

Geography
North Holland is located mainly on a wide peninsula between the North Sea, the Wadden Sea, the Markermeer and the IJsselmeer. To the south it borders with South Holland and province Utrecht, from the east by Houtribdijk z Flevolandand from the northwest by the Afsluitdijk z Friesland.
