Höchenschwand is in the southern Black Forest, it is located on a high plateau at an altitude of 1015 m and is the highest climatic health resort Germany. When the weather is good you have from Village in the sky a unique view over the Swiss Alps.

The municipality of Höchenschwand includes the former municipalities of Amrigschwand and Tiefenhäusern as well as a number of hamlets and farms. Höchenschwand borders on the municipalities Houses, Ühlingen-Birkendorf, Weilheim and Dachsberg (southern Black Forest).
