The Black Forest is a largely forested low mountain range in southern Germany on the eastern side of the Upper Rhine Rift. The highest mountain peaks in the Black Forest can be found there.

Regions

The Upper Black Forest is located in the center of the southern Black Forest, which is often understood to mean the area of ​​the former Upper Black Forest district. The tourist region extends from Breisgau and Markgräflerland in the west to the region Upper Rhine in the east, from Wiesental and Hotzenwald in the south to Elz Valley and Kinzigtal in the North.
