Loeffingen is a small town in Baden-Württemberg, it is located at the transition from Black Forest to Baar on the edge of the Wutach Gorge.

Loeffingen is the easternmost municipality in the Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald district. The first traces of settlement date from the Celtic and Roman times. The first documentary mention comes from the year 819, in 1270 Löffingen received city rights.

In the course of the community reform in 1970, the formerly independent towns of Bachheim, Dittishausen, Göschweiler, Reiselfingen, Seppenhofen and Unadingen were incorporated.

Neighboring communities are Lenzkirch, Friedenweiler, Eisenbach, Bräunlingen, Hüfingen, Wutach and Bonndorf.
