Friedenweiler is a municipality in the nature park Southern Black Forest and lies north of the Wutach Gorge.

The community of Friedenweiler was created in 1975 through the merger of the formerly independent villages Friedenweiler and Rötenbach, another district is the hamlet of Kleineisenbach. The municipal administration is located in the Rötenbach district, which has about twice as many inhabitants as the Friedenweiler district.

Neighboring places are Titisee-Neustadt, Eisenbach, Löffingen and Lenzkirch.
