Feldberg (Black Forest) is a holiday community in Black Forest. The well-known one is in the municipality Feldberg, which at 1493 m is the highest point in the Black Forest.
The nice thing about the municipality of Feldberg is that the districts (with the exception of Feldberg-Ort) are largely away from the large flow of visitors. Nevertheless, the districts are very centrally located in the Black Forest. Many destinations can be easily reached on foot on day hikes. In combination with the Dreiseenbahn, long-distance hikes are also no problem.

The community of Feldberg consists of the districts Altglashütten, Bärental, Falkau, Feldberg-Ort and Neuglashütten. In addition, a number of hamlets and farms belong to the community.

By train
If you arrive by train, it is best to set up your quarters in Altglashütten or in Bärental. Both places have train stops on the Dreiseenbahn, which connects Titisee with Schluchsee-Seebrugg.
From Freiburg main station (ICE / IC connection) on the Rheintalbahn, the trains of the Breisgau S-Bahn run every hour via the famous Höllentalbahn via Titisee without changing trains in the direction of Seebrugg.
According to the sign on the building, the Feldberg-Bärental train station is 967 m high highest train station in Germany. What is meant is the type "standard gauge station without rack". Higher is z. B. as the meter gauge station, the mountain station of the Brocken Railway at over 1100 m in the Harz Mountains (also no cogwheel train). The highest German railway station is the station "Zugspitzplatt" of the rack railway on the Zugspitze plateau at an altitude of about 2500 m.

Beautiful walking and hiking destinations around Altglashütten are:
- 1 Titiseeblick on the Schuppenhörnle (Rest area bench-table combination and another single bench)
- 1 Small Falkau waterfall (to be reached from Altglashütten via a beautiful promenade along the Schwarzenbach)
- 2 Windgfallweiher with a nice circular lake route southeast of Altlgashütten
- 1 Two eyes on the hiking route to the Feldberg above Neuglashütten; beautiful landscape view with a view of the Titisee and Schluchsee (beautiful resting place bench-table combination and another single bench). A little to the south you can find a small, but worth seeing, path towards Feldberg High moor. The hiking path leads on a footbridge through the renatured moor.

Arriving by public transport from Altglashütten-Falkau station: first by train to Bärental station, here change to the 7300 bus in the direction of Zell to the Feldberger Hof stop at 1250 m (travel time 33 minutes, in Bärental 19 minutes connection time to the bus that is directly in front of it leaves the train station).
Alternatively, there is also a day hike from Altglashütten to the Feldberg. Due to the many sights there, it makes sense to travel by train and train. The hiking route to the Feldberg via Bärenhalde, Zweiseenblick and Caritashaus is also not so worth seeing that you have to walk it twice (high proportion of rather lengthy roads in the forest).

- Feldberg area - For those who have not chosen their accommodation directly in Feldberg-Ort (more a place for skiers in winter), the highest mountain in the Black Forest is of course a first choice day trip destination.
- Titisee - The well-known health resort on the Black Forest lake of the same name is internationally a representative of the successful German brand "Black Forest". The location of the Titisee surrounded by dark green, wooded heights is really one of the most beautiful places in the mountains and is rightly well visited.
- Schluchsee - largest lake in the Black Forest, swimming and water sports. Tour around the lake (scenic, especially on the south side, very beautiful, but very lengthy on foot because almost everything is gravel roads). Therefore rent a bike in Schluchsee for the 20 to 22 km. Public transport: from Bärental and Altglashütten-Falkau every hour with the Dreiseenbahn.
- Hinterzarten with Ravennaschlucht in Höllental. Public transport: with the Dreiseenbahn from Bärental or Altglashütten-Falkau around 15-20 minutes travel time.
- Wutach Gorge attractive hiking destination on the eastern edge of the Black Forest
- Todtnau - Small town with a very spectacular all-weather toboggan run. The Hasenhorncoaster is 2.9 km long and has an altitude difference of 350 m. The ascent takes place by chair lift. The panoramic view of Todtnau is worth the ascent by chair lift. Then it goes rapidly downhill over various hairpin bends, banked curves and waves (Side of the toboggan run).
- Belchen - we are often referred to as the most beautiful Black Forest summit (see also Side of the Belchen cable car).
- Freiburg in Breisgau - Cathedral and beautiful old town, museums, stroll through town - easy to reach by train from Bärental and Altglashütten-Falkau without parking problems (40 minutes travel time).
