Dead moss is a holiday and climatic health resort in Southern Black Forest.

The municipality of Todtmoos is located in the Waldshut district on the upper reaches of the Wehra in a wide valley. The main town is Vordertodtmoos, other districts are Au, Glashütte, Hintertodtmoos, Schwarzenbach and Weg. Other hamlets and farms also belong to the community. The neighboring places Bernau, Ibach and Herrischried are also in the district of Waldshut, but belong to Todtnau, Hägs-Ehrsberg and Gersbach to the district of Loerrach

In the street
Todtmoos can only be reached via country roads. The L 148 goes through the Wehratal Weir, the L 150 leads to St. Blasien, the L 151 comes from Todtnau and go to Bad Säckingen.

- 2 Hochkopf 1263 m - Mountain with a freely accessible observation tower, which is approx. 3 km north of the village. Especially in inversion weather conditions, you have a clear view of the Swiss Alps from here.

- The 4 Heimethus Todtmoos is housed in a 250 year old building with a wooden shingle roof. A local history collection with agricultural implements is on display. Further topics are the spa operation and the pilgrimage in Todtmoos.
- The 5 Willow beech in the district of Lehen collapsed in 2013. The 400 year old tree had a trunk circumference of 6.25 m, which still partially remained.
