Weir is a small town in the south of Baden-Wuerttemberg. It's up to the Wehra between the Dinkelberg in the west and that Black Forest in the East. The formerly independent municipality of Öflingen, its part of the municipality, is located south of the core town of Wehr Burns lies at the mouth of the Wehra in the Upper Rhine.

Wehr was first mentioned in a document in 1092. From the 13th century to 1805, the place belonged to Upper Austria, after which it came to the Grand Duchy of Baden. In 1363, Wehr was granted market rights, and Wehr has had town rights since 1950. In 1972, Öflingen was incorporated.

The 1 Wehr-Brennet station is in the south of Wehr on the route of the Hochrheinbahn between Basel and Constancy, regional trains stop there. The most important transfer station for train travelers to Wehr is the Badische Bahnhof Basel, from there the Wehr-Brennet station is reached after six stops. The former Wehratal line has been closed since 1971.
By bus
The main connection with the bus is the bus route 7335 of the Südbadenbus. This route runs between Schopfheim and Waldshut-Tiengen as final stops and drives to Wehr every half hour in both directions (every hour on Saturdays and every two hours on Sundays). The Wehr bus station is located in the center of the city. Starting from Wehr, there are many opportunities for hiking in a very beautiful natural area. Hiking on the Wehratal adventure trail, Murg-Wehra hiking trail, Schluchtensteig hiking trail and the Erdmannsweg to Erdmannshöhle in Hasel is very popular.
A beautifully situated vantage point near Wehr, near Atdorf, is the upper basin of the Wehr pumped storage power plant. From there you have a very nice panoramic view of the entire region. The level of difficulty of the various hiking trails is varied from easy to demanding, so that there are good opportunities for hiking for everyone.

There is no nightlife in the classic sense in Wehr. However, you won't find a lot of action and party in the evening / night in Wehr or on the weekends.
