Kirchzarten is a community in Dreisamtal in the Southern Black Forest.

The formerly independent villages of Zarten and Burg as well as several courtyards and hamlets belong to the municipality of Kirchzarten. The hamlet that used to belong to Burg is known at least by name Heaven. It is at the entrance to the Hell Valley.

The town is to the west of Kirchzarten Freiburg. The neighboring communities Buchenbach, Oberried and Webs are in the Dreisamtal and have one thing in common with Kirchzarten Tourism portal.

The 1 Kirchzarten station is on the Höllentalbahn line. From Kirchzarten there are half-hourly connections to Freiburg and after Titisee-Neustadt as well as every hour after Villingen. The small district of Himmelreich also has one 2 Train station.
