The Markgräfler Land is in the extreme southwest of Baden-Wuerttemberg.

The highest point in the Markgräfler Land is the 1 High blues at 1165 m above sea level NN near Badenweiler.
The 2 Rötteln Castle in Lörrach has been partially restored and houses a small museum. The lower castle can be visited freely all year round. There is a restaurant and a beer garden. The upper castle is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. from mid-March to mid-November. Mid-November to mid-March on weekends and on public holidays from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Entry costs for adults: 2.50 euros; Children (6 years to 14 years) 1.00 euro; Children under 6 years free; Groups (from 20 people) 2.00 euros per person. The castle can be reached by bus line 16 (from Lörrach main station in the direction of Hauingen / Brombach to the Röttelnweiler stop). From the bus stop you can walk to the castle in about 15 minutes.
