Jugów(German: House village) is a mountain town in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship in the northwest of the Glatzer Ländchens in the Owl Mountains in the Medium brews. Its location makes the place an important center of tourism in the Glatzer Ländchen. The place is the starting point for hikes in the surrounding mountains. In particular, it is one of the starting points for climbing the Sonnenstein.
background
The place emerged as a settlement of miners and glassblowers. Craftsmen and weavers were added later. The place was first mentioned in documents in 1352. In 1742/1763 it came to Prussia. Tourism began to develop in the 19th century. In 1844, like almost all of the Owl Mountains, the riots broke out here, which thanks to Heinrich Heine and Gerhard Hauptmann are known as the Silesian weavers' revolt. In a mountain accident in 1930 151 workers were killed in the tunnels of the local mines. The place continued to develop, with the exception of the times of the world wars. In 1945 the place came to Poland.
