With the moped or tuk-tuk it goes on the national route direction Kampong Thom. A little after the junction to the Roluos Group, turn right. Those who arrive by tuk-tuk cannot go to the boats, the last part has to be covered by moped. Then the transfer to a motorboat takes place. He takes him to the village, whose houses stand on five to six meter high stilts. So the place is a "stilted village" and not a "swimming village". A rowboat can be used to drive you through the flooded forests ($ 10). Since you arrive here individually, you have to shell out more for the boat than with an organized package tour south of Siem Reap. The price is negotiable, but you should get a motorboat for $ 30.
You can also easily book the tour through one of the many local travel agencies. The tour costs $ 15 per person. you are picked up from the hotel early and drive to the port. The way to Kampong Phlouk is then covered by a 1-hour boat trip on the Tonle Sap. This is a little less attractive than the individual journey by land.
mobility
The best way to explore the village and the surrounding area is by boat. The driver of the boat you came with usually drives you around a bit and makes a trip out to the Tonle Sap.
Tourist Attractions
In the center of the village there is a small island, here you will find the only buildings that are not on stilts.
- pagoda. There is a pagoda on the island, just above the jetty. All walls and the ceiling are decorated with very beautiful paintings.
