The region Karoo Heartland in the west of the Eastern Cape Province is only part of the large African landscape Great Karoo and borders the Karoo in the province North Cape, to the Central Karoo and the Little Karoo in the province Western Cape. In the east of the region are the Eastern Cape Midlands and the Frontier Country, south of it is the Sunshine Coast.
