Kenzingen is a small town in the north Breisgau, it belongs to the district of Emmendingen.
background
Kenzingen was first mentioned in a document in 772 in the Lorsch Codex. The place received city rights in 1249. In 1359, Kenzingen came to Front Austria. In 1806 Kenzingen came to the Grand Duchy of Baden. In the course of an administrative reform in the years 1971-1974 the formerly independent places Bombach, Hecklingen and Nordweil were incorporated. While Kenzingen and Hecklingen lie in the Rhine valley, the districts of Hecklingen and Nordweil are already between the foothills of the Middle Black Forest.
