Kragerø is a port town on the Skagerak coast, which is mainly characterized by fishing and tourism. The place has an enormous number of holiday apartments and houses in the area and is one of the more upscale travel destinations on the entire south coast.
Its special feature are the narrow streets and the numerous wooden houses, some of which were built directly on the rocks. The color of the houses - they are mostly painted white - is the reason why Kragerø along with Risør, Flekkefjord, Lillesand and Lyngør the city to the so-called white cities is counted on the Skagerak coast.

By plane
The nearest airport is in Torp bei Sandefjord, approx. 90 km away. The main Norwegian airport, Oslo Airport Gardermoen is around 250 km away.
By train
Kragerø has had no connection to the Norwegian rail network since the Kragerøbanen was closed in 1989. The next train stop is about 25 km away Neslandsvatn. Here you have access to trains in the direction of Oslo (approx. 2:45 hours) and in the direction of Kristiansand (approx. 2 hours).

From the E18, which passes a few kilometers north, Fylkesvei 38 leads directly to Kragerø.
