The airport Torp (TRF) / Sandefjord Lufthavn is the Norwegian airport with the second largest number of direct connections from abroad. There is a bus service from the airport to Torp train station, from where you can take the train to Sandefjord. Total travel time 12 minutes, connections every hour.

  • Whaling monument. At the crossroads between Tollbugata, Jernbanealleen and the beach promenade is the not undisputed monument, which is supposed to remind of the heyday of Sandefjord as the center of Norwegian whaling. Critics accuse the builders of the monument of glorifying whaling.

  • Whaling ship Southern Actor, Brygga 1, 3210 Sandefjord. Even outside of the Southern Actor's short sightseeing times, it is worth taking a walk to Brygga just to see the ship from the outside.Open: last week of June and August, Sat and Sun 12 noon - 5 p.m., July daily 12 noon - 5 p.m.
Excavation documentation in Gokstad
  • Gokstad. Site of the Viking ship named after the place, which was found as a burial object of a chief under a burial mound on the road east of Sandefjord. The mound was backfilled after the ship was salvaged, below you can see a large graphic showing the position of the ship in the mound and photos of the excavation work. The Gokstad ship is now in the Viking Ship Museum in OsloThe "Gaia" on the Museum Brygga is a reconstruction.

Parking spaces can be found directly opposite in the large parking lot between Tollbugata, Thor Dahlsgate and Jernbanealleen.
