Characteristic

Geographical location: 50 ° 35′25 ″ N 21 ° 06′05 ″ E

In the years 1975-1998, the village administratively belonged to the Tarnobrzeg Province with its seat in Tarnobrzeg.

The palace (once a castle) in Kurozwęki is about 600 years old, but one day has gone down in its history in a special way. It was Sunday, June 10, 1887 and he visited the Kurozwęki estate on that day King Stanisław August Poniatowski, returning from a meeting with the tsarina Catherine the Great. Maciej Sołtyk, the voivode of Sandomierz, gave a festive dinner in honor of the king. Outstanding guests were gathered in the great hall, and numerous mutual toasts were raised. Later, a ball was held in honor of the king, unlike the palace; the ruler, who had a unique influence on women, not only because of his position, but mainly because of his male sex appeal, danced with almost all the ladies. He kidnapped even a very elderly voivode to dance. Stanisław August stayed in Kurozwęki for the night, and the next day he had many meetings, he also went to visit the surrounding area - the village estate. We know the details of the visit thanks Adam Naruszewiczwho wrote them in Stanisław August's journey planner.

100 years later he was visiting Kurozwęki Stefan Żeromski. The first time as a student, at the invitation of the estate manager, later as a famous writer when he wrote Ashes. The village and its surroundings must have inspired his imagination, because it appeared in several of his works, also in "Popioły" - as Grudno.

As befits a centuries-old history, the palace has its own legend. Supposedly there is to be a hidden treasure here. It is guarded by Piotr from Kurozwęki. Many daredevils have already tried to get this treasure, but no one managed to outsmart the guard. When he realizes that someone has come here for gold, he will lure him to a goblet of wine seasoned with a mysterious herb. Upon awakening, the greedy visitor will remember nothing. There will only be ... a headache.
