Baranów Sandomierski is a historical place in Poland in the voivodeship Subcarpathian. The place is south of Sandomierz at the Vistula and is known for its Mannerist chateau belonging to the Leszczyński magnate family. The next largest city is Tarnobrzeg a few kilometers downstream.

The place was founded in 1135. In 1354 he received city rights and flourished due to the Vistula trade. After the First Partition of Poland in 1772, the place came successively to the Habsburgs and in 1867 to the K-and-K monarchy. After the First World War he became Polish again.

The castle already existed in the 15th century. From 1591 it was made in the style of Mannerism by the Italians Santi Gucci and later Giovanni Battista Falconi expanded for Andrzej Leszczyński. Then the castle came to the Wiśniowiecki and Lubomirski. At the end of the 17th century, Józef Lubomirski had it rebuilt by Tylman von Gameren in the high baroque style. Fires in the 19th century and the world wars in the 20th century affected the castle. Today there is a museum as well as hotel and catering facilities in the castle.
