The international Krakow-Balice Airport "John Paul II."(Polish: Port Lotniczy im. Jana Pawła II Kraków-Balice) west of the big city Krakow in the region Lesser Poland. With almost 7 million passengers a year, it is one of the largest airports in the country.
getting there
The airport is easy to reach from Krakow by public transport as well as by car. The S-Bahn line SKA1 connects Kraków Central Station (Kraków Główny) and other stops in Kraków and the neighboring city Wieliczka with the airport train station, which is conveniently located directly at the terminal. The journey from Kraków Central Station takes 17 minutes and costs PLN 12. Bus routes 208, 209 and 252 provide further connections between the city and the airport. A single ticket costs 4.60 PLN.

The airport is used by 20 airlines, including the LOT, SAS, KLM, Lufthansa, Eurowings, Norwegian, Swiss, Ryanair and Wizzair. Goals in German-speaking countries include Vienna, Zurich, Geneva, Basel, Nuremberg, Hamburg, Stuttgart, Dusseldorf, Dortmund, Berlin, Frankfurt am Main and Munich.
