Kyllburg is a small town in the Eifel and state-approved climatic health resort.
background
In the past, Kyllburg was an extremely important tourist destination. In the 19th century, many people, especially from the Rhine and Ruhr, but also from the Netherlands, spent their holidays here; there were numerous special trains to Kyllburg. Tourism has come to an abrupt end here due to people's changed holiday ideas, but also due to demographic change. Strangers still come to Kyllburg, but not nearly as many as at the best of times, and the city is having a hard time coping with the change.

Tourist Attractions
- 1 Kyllburg Collegiate Church, On the pin 5.
The church dates from the 13th century. The ornate windows from the Renaissance are particularly worth seeing. - 2 Evangelical Church Kyllburg, Marienstrasse 22. The Evangelical Church was opened to the numerous tourists in 1900 on a slope north of the city. The original furnishings of the church were lost in the Second World War.
- 3 Kyllburg Castle. Hardly anything has survived from the Kyllburg, which gave the city its name, as numerous outbuildings have been demolished, especially recently. The keep is still standing.

Kyllburg once had a splendid pedestrian zone with many owner-managed shops. That was long ago. In the meantime, the last shop in Kyllburg has also closed, so that you can no longer shop at all except in the supermarket.
