The Agordina Valley (The Val in Ladin) is a country of Veneto, located in the conca agordina.

Valle Agordina is a mountain resort located in the Belluno Dolomites, 3 km from Agordo.

Geographical notes

Of the group of Schiara:

  • San Sebastiano chain (Cima di S. Sebastiano 2.488 m., Tàmer 2.550 m., Castello del Moschesìn 2.499 m.), With the ruins of a fort dating back to the First World War under the Spiz di Moschesin, near the homonymous saddle;
  • Mount Talvena;
  • Monte Celo, with a practicable mule track dating back to the Great War under the top of Copegna up to under Pradusèl and the remains of military tunnels on the southwest side, behind the Col dei Ciot saddle and the Pradusèl.

Take the Agordina state road up to Agordo; then take the provincial road of Passo Duràn.

What see

  • Parish Church of San Michele Arcangelo, Church square. Building from the early 18th century; interior frescoed in the twentieth century; bell tower coeval to the church with five bells dating back to the first postwar period.
  • Fort of Moschesin, Moschesin fork (reachable only on foot). Simple icon time.svgUnguarded. Discreetly preserved ruin of a First World War fortress.
  • Great War Galleries, Monte Celo, south side, near the Pradusèl and the Col dei Ciot (reachable only on foot). Simple icon time.svgUnguarded. Vestiges of tunnels used by soldiers as a refuge.
  • Mountain Life Museum (On the top floor of the Town Hall).
