Lasa(Italian: Lasa) is a gem in South-Tirol, it has around 4,000 inhabitants and is located in Vinschgau.

The place 1 Lasa is located in the Etsch valley between the Nördersberg in the south and the Sonnenberg in the north. It is the capital of the municipality of the same name, to which the districts belong 2 Allitz, 3 Eyrs, 4 Tschengls, 5 Tanas, 6 Tarnell and 7 Parnetz belong.

Lasa is known as Marble village. On the slopes of the Nörderberg was already in Roman times marble reduced. The quarries are still in operation today 1 Whitewater break and on 2 Göflaner Bruch. The blocks obtained in this way are used with the Lasa marble track transported to the valley and processed.

Kandlwaal Laas
  • 1  St. John. Parish church of Laas, consecrated in 1854.
  • 2  Maria Lourdes. The church was consecrated in 1896.
  • 3  St. Sisinus. Small Romanesque church, 11./12. Century.
  • 4 Kandlwaal. Originally an aqueduct that carried water over a length of 600 m from the Nördersberg across the Adige to the slope of the Sonnenberg. Burned down in 1907, one piece is still preserved.
  • 5 Weir on the Adige. The dammed water flows through pipes to the Kastelbell hydroelectric power station
