activities
kitchen
The cuisine in Trentino and South Tyrol is less Italian. This is due to the region's relative remoteness in the mountains and, on the other hand, to the long association with Austria. The traditional cuisine of the farmers is a very poor, high-calorie and hearty cuisine, based on what little the soil and the harsh climate produce.
Tenno applies with Arco and Varone as the original area of the traditional meat dish Carne Salada. The dish is mostly made from beef, but veal and horse meat are also used. The meat is salted and then stored in a container with spices for 25 days. It can be eaten raw as a carpaccio, boiled or fried. Traditionally it is made with beans (Fasoi) served.
