Lefkada (Lefkada, Λευκάδα) is one of the Ionian Islands.

To know

Lefkada, is located between Kefalonia is Corfu and it is so close to the mainland that a drawbridge has been built there. While waiting for the bridge to be lowered, long lines of cars often form with unnerving waits, especially in the summer.

Geographical notes

Lefkada is nothing but the top of a mountain that emerges from the sea depths and is part of a submerged chain that detaches itself from the Pindus and re-emerges on the island of Crete. The island is rich in vegetation with the presence of pines, cypresses, oaks, plane trees and olive trees. Throughout its circumnavigation it is characterized by the presence of numerous and different beaches all easily reachable through a circular road that goes around the island itself.

How to get

On boat

Some of the ships that sail from Italian ports call at Igoumenitsa. From here you have to continue by car or bus to Lefkada. An alternative could be to embark in Brindisi or Bari and get off at Sami in the island of Kefalonia. From Fiscardo you can take the ferry to Nydri which makes an intermediate stop at Ithaca

How to get around

Given the modest size of the island, it is really useful to have a means of locomotion that allows you to turn it, experiencing it at its best both day and night. The localities of Nidri where most of our facilities are concentrated are well known. Kite surfers find their paradise in Lefkada, famous for the perfect weather conditions that occur at Vassiliki beach.
