Loei(Thai: เลย) is the capital of the homonymous province in Northeast Thailand.

The regional Loei Airport is 5 km south of the city and is served several times a day by Nok Air, AirAsia and Thai AirAsia.
With AC bus from Khon Kaen every 30 minutes for about 4 hours from early in the morning until late at night for 180 THB.
Buses go
• to Bangkok 17 times a day between 6:00 a.m. and 9:20 p.m.,
• to Phitsanulok 3 times a day (10:00 a.m., 12:00 p.m. and 2:20 p.m.) in 4 hours. Price depending on departure time around 200 THB.
There are also cross-border buses operated by the Thai state company The Transport Co. of Luang Prabang in Laos via Sainyabuli to Loei (and vice versa). The journey in air-conditioned buses of car class 1 ข takes about 10 hours and costs 700 baht each way. The departure from Loei and Luang Prabang is 8:00 a.m.

A beautiful, well-kept park (unfortunately with little seating) in the "U", which is formed by the artificial lake. A footbridge leads from the city over the lake to the park.
