- Phi Ta Khon Festival ("Spirit Festival"). Actually, several festivals in the small town Dan Sai (90 km west of the provincial capital on the border with Phitsanulok province), which take place between March and July. The exact dates are re-determined every year by the local ghost media. Known far beyond the region because of the processions and games in which the participants wear colorful and gruesome masks.
- Winter flower fair, in Phu Ruea (area of the district administration). Around New Years. Phu Ruea is one of the coolest places in Thailand, which is why flowers thrive here that are too hot elsewhere. At the end of December and beginning of January, the most beautiful floral decorations are presented, flowers and plants and local products can be bought, schoolchildren put on traditional performances, there is a beauty queen election and other competitions as well as a New Year's Eve party.
