The Phu Kradueng National Park(อุทยานแห่งชาติ ภูกระดึง) is in the Thai province Loei. It covers an area of 348 km² and is the second oldest national park in the country. It is popular among visitors due to the relatively cool climate (average temperature 15 ° C, even in the hot season rarely above 20 ° C) and for camping.

background

The Asian maple, which is very rare in Thailand (Acer calcaratum) occurs here.

The focal point and namesake of the national park is the 1316 meter high sandstone table mountain Phu Kradueng, which has a characteristic bell shape and around which numerous myths are entwined in local folklore.
