The Chaloem Rattanakosin National Park(Thai: อุทยานแห่งชาติ เฉลิม รัตนโกสินทร์) is in the Thai province Kanchanaburi. At 59 square kilometers, it is the smallest of the national parks in Kanchanaburi Province.

history
The Chaloem Rattanakosin was opened in February 1980 as the 17th national park.
landscape
The area of the national park is characterized by steep sandstone mountain slopes covered by evergreen rainforest. There are not only numerous waterfalls and mysterious caves here, but also the natural watershed of the Mae Klong River.
The highest point in the park is the Khao Kam Phaeng (Thai: ยอด เขา กำแพง) with 1,260 meters, here is the headwaters of the Mae Klong.
fauna and Flora
The largest area of the national park is covered by evergreen forest, part is also mixed forest and bamboo.
The fauna includes, for example, the leopard, banteng, gaur and some species of monkeys. 60 species of birds have also been sighted.
climate
The average temperatures are 17 to 18 ° C in the cool season (November to March) and 37 ° C in the warm season (April to June). An average of 1,146 mm of rain falls per year.
