Bike tour on the Bang Kachao peninsula
  • Cycling tour. On the peninsula Bang Kachao (Amphoe Phra Pradaeng; often wrong Bang Krachao written with 'r'). The peninsula, which is surrounded by a loop of the Chao Phraya River and directly borders Bangkok, is, unlike the capital and large parts of the Samut Prakan province, neither urbanized nor industrialized. There is still dense vegetation here, only small, rarely used roads and village settlements. That is why it is also known as the “green lung” of Bangkok. Accessible from Bangkok by ferry Klong Toei — Tha Bang Krachao or Bang Na — Wat Bang Nam Phueng Nok.
  • Rap-Bua-Fest ("receiving lotus"). To Ok Phansa (in October) in Bang Phli. At the end of the Buddhist monks' retreat, a Buddha statue, highly revered by the local believers, is placed on a magnificently decorated boat Khlong Samrong drove along. The population lines up on the banks of the canal and pelts the boat and the statue with lotus flowers.

accommodation

This is a special place to stay Bangkok Tree House: A “tree house” on the idyllic Bang Kachao peninsula, around which the Chao Phraya Current flows. Here you can sleep in one of five sometimes very unconventional “nests” for two to four people. Most of them can only be reached via steep stairs. The most unusual are View with a room (a platform without a roof over the jungle) and that River Nest (a floating bed raft on the river). Everyone has an extraordinary look. From 4590 baht per night including breakfast, ice cream, bicycle and mobile phone use and WiFi.
