The closest airports to Thailand are Sakon Nakhon (SNO; 180 km south) and Udon Thani (UTH; 195 km southwest). The airport of the Lao capital Vientiane is closer, but the transfer is more complicated due to the border crossing.
Bueng Kan can also be reached mainly by long-distance buses. The state-owned company The Transport Co. offers a direct connection from Bangkok's north once a day Bus station Mo Chit at.
