Udon Thani(Thai: อุดรธานี) is the capital of the homonymous province in Northeast Thailand.

By train
Udon Thani has one 2 railway station on the northeast line (Bangkok – Nong Khai) of the Thai State Railways. There are four daily connections from Bangkok to Udon Thani. The scheduled travel time is between 9:35 (express) and 11:50 hours (rapid), with delays often occurring. The fare varies between 205 baht in the simplest class and 649 baht in an air-conditioned sleeping car (lower bed; as of March 2015).
There are six daily connections between Khon Kaen and Udon Thani. The scheduled journey time is between 1:50 and 2:20 hours, the journey costs 25 baht in the simplest class trains (free for Thai) and 267 baht in the express class. There are three daily connections to Nakhon Ratchasima. According to the plan, the journey takes five to 5:20 hours, the maximum fare is 350 baht. There are five connections a day between Udon Thani and Nong Khai, the scheduled journey time is 35 to 55 minutes, the fare is express 161/235 baht, im Ordinary 11 Baht (as of Dec. 2016). By bus
There are two bus stations in Udon Thani. Most long-distance buses stop at the centrally located newer one 3 Bus terminal at the CentralPlaza shopping center and not far from most hotels. The older one 4 Bus terminal 2 in the west of the city is mainly served by regional buses. If you get to the latter, you have to take a tuk tuk (motorcycle rickshaw) to the city center for about 80 THB or you wait for an irregularly moving Songthaeo (converted van with benches) for 15 THB.
From Bangkok's northern Bus station Mo Chit There are several buses per hour to Udon Thani between 5:50 am and 10:30 pm. The journey time is just under 8 hours, the price varies between 445 and 517 THB depending on the car class. Society Nakhonchai Air runs from their own bus station in the north of Bangkok six times a day (four of them at night, departing between 9.30pm and 11pm) to Udon Thani. The price is 466 ("Gold Class") or 622 THB ("First Class").

- 6 Krom Luang Prachaksinlapakhom Monument (At the Si Suk Road / Thahan Road / Pokanusorn Road roundabout). Monument in honor of Prince Prachaksinlapakhom (a son of King Rama IV), who, as plenipotentiary for the northern Isan, contributed to the development of Udon Thani from a somewhat larger village to an important provincial capital.
