With 212 km² the largest freshwater wetland in Thailand; Parts of the area are designated as a bird sanctuary, which is why a large variety of bird species can be observed here. The swamp itself, which is covered by countless water lilies, is also worth seeing - especially in the morning hours (before 10 a.m.) when their flowers are open. As a group of up to 15 people you can charter a boat (1.5 hours for 500 baht). The visitor center is located in Tambon Khwae Yai, about 8 kilometers east of the city of Nakhon Sawan on the trunk road 225 towards Amphoe Chum Saeng (quite well signposted). There is also a remarkable aquarium with an underwater tunnel, where the native fish species can be admired (entry 100 baht, as of 2014).
