Nakhon Sawan(Thai: นครสวรรค์, IPA: [náʔkʰɔːn sa.wǎn]) is the capital of the province of the same name in Northern Thailand.

By plane
It is currently not possible to reach the city by plane. There is an airport there. However, this is closed to normal air traffic as it is used by the Thai army for helicopter test flights. Local small agricultural planes also take off there.
By train
Nakhon Sawan can be reached by train from Bangkok and Chiang Mai. However, the train station is 6km outside the city, not in the city center, on the other side of the Chao Phraya River. Driving to the center with the green Songthaeo costs only 10 THB / person.
In the street
Nakhon Sawan can be reached by car from Bangkok via the highways 31, 1, 32 and again 1. With the bus to reach Nakhon Sawan from Bangkok's northern Bus station Mo Chit out. The Nakhon Sawan bus station is relatively central, opposite the Pimarn Hotel. There are also buses to Chiang Mai via Phitsanulok and Khon Kaen.
By boat

The movement within the city takes place with different colored Songthaeosthat drive certain routes according to their color. The green Songthaeos e.g. drive out to the train station. The fares are usually written down. There are hardly any tuk-tuks, any more than taxis.

There are plenty of shopping opportunities in Nakhon Sawan. In addition to the Big C, there is also the Fairy Land (Lotus Tesco) shopping center. "Walk" is the name of a shopping center near the lake with a large Tesco / Lotus and otherwise mainly dining facilities. Near the Ping River there is the market, also night market.

Restaurants are plentiful in Nakhon Sawan. Since many of the residents of Nakhon Sawan are of Chinese descent, there are many places with Chinese cuisine. You can also eat cheaply in the malls like Big C and Fairy Land. There are also fast food restaurants in the two shopping centers. Food stalls can be found on almost every corner in Nakhon Sawan.

The nightlife mainly takes place around Sawan Park. There are numerous restaurants, karaoke bars, etc. There is also live music in the city's hotels.

Hotels and Guesthouses there are some in Nakhon Sawan. Unfortunately, these are often not according to international standards. There are four hospitals in Nakhon Sawan, two of which are centrally located on the main Sawan Withi Road - that Ruamphat Hospital as well as another a few meters further. Another is on the north corner of the lake, the fourth finally about 3 km in a south-westerly direction on the outskirts, also on Sawan Withi Road.
Practical advice
An office of Thai immigration located here: 339 Amphoe Muang, Changwat Nakhonsawan 60000, Tel 0-5688-1517-8. The Songthaeo driver Police station say, then go left around the building across the parking lot, then after about 200m it is the 2nd house. Opening times on working days 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. All Visa extensions can be done here.
A Copy shop for any necessary copies of ID or other copies, works on the main road a few meters from the police station out of town.

The telephone, cell phone, cable TV and internet infrastructure is extremely good. Many hotels in Thailand have wireless lan for internet access or you can go to an internet cafe. Internet connections are relatively fast.
