- Surat Thani. Shrine with the city pillar, Buddhist temple, mosque.
- Chaiya, approx. 40 km northwest of the provincial capital. One of the oldest cities in southern Thailand, was in the 8th century AD one of the capitals of Srivijaya, a kind of Buddhist "Hanseatic League" of Southeast Asia. The oldest surviving parts of the Buddhist temple Wat Borommathat Chaiya date from this time. in the Chaiya National Museum Numerous perfectly shaped Buddha statues from this era are shown.

- The monastery complex Suan Mokkh bei Chaiya was founded by the famous Buddhist scholar Buddhadasa Bhikkhu. Here you can go to Withdraw meditation. One is prepared for international prospects.
