Lohr am Main (official name "Lohr a.Main") is a town in Lower Franconia, Bavaria with about 16,500 inhabitants. The first documentary mention is known from the year 1295. In 1333 Lohr was granted Gelnhauser town charter by Emperor Ludwig. In addition to the core town, Lohr consists of the nine other districts of Halsbach, Lindig, Pflochsbach, Rodenbach, Ruppertshütten, Sackenbach, Sendelbach, Steinbach and Wombach.

On the airport Frankfurt
(IATA: FRA) Lohr is easily accessible by train (approx. one hour).
By train
The city is on the Würzburg - Frankfurt railway line and can be reached by RE. Trains run at least every hour from both directions and stop at the only station “Lohr Bahnhof”. The train station is about 2 kilometers from the city center and is connected to the public transport system.
In the street
Lohr is conveniently located on the eastern edge of the Rhine-Main area, approx. 80 km by car from Frankfurt. From there Lohr is by Autobahn 3 (Exit Weibersbrunn) can be reached in about 1 hour by car.
By bicycle
The Main cycle path leads through Lohr, as does the Kahltal-Spessart cycle path. Via the neighboring town of Gemünden (13 km) connection to the Franconian Saale Cycle Path and the Werntal cycle path.
By boat
Due to the location on Main Lohr can also be reached by ship, the main landing stage is the Main area between the old and the new Main Bridge. There is no regular shipping service, but in the summer months the "Maintalbummler" runs several times a day as a tour boat, with which destinations in the vicinity can be reached.

With the well-developed public transport system, all major places in the area can be reached from the central bus station on the parking deck (not far from the pedestrian zone).
The public bus system "Lohr Liner"runs to the entire city area in five different lines.
