In the north the region borders on Denmark's largest island Zealand.

By plane

Closest airport is Copenhagen. From there it is 120 km to Stege (Møn), 130 km to Nykøbing (Falster), 170 km to Nakskov (Lolland), which takes two to three hours by train (and possibly bus).

By train

  • From direction Hamburg about the Bird airline: ICE or EC Hamburg – Copenhagen three times a day. The train is loaded onto the ferry in Puttgarden (Fehmarn) (entry into the ship sitting in the train). During the crossing, the train, like the entire car deck, must be left for safety reasons. The large luggage can remain on the train. This is locked during the crossing. Across the Fehmarnbelt, the ICE / EC stops in Rødby (2:45 hours from Hamburg) and Nykøbing Falster (3:15 hours)
  • From Copenhagen there are hourly regional trains via Roskilde and Næstved to Nørre Alslev (1½ hours from Copenhagen), Eskilstrup (1:35 hours) and Nykøbing Falster (1:50 hours) and hourly regional express to Nykøbing (1½ hours), every two hours Rødby (2 hours from Copenhagen).

By bus

From the train station Vordingborg In the south of Zealand, the company's bus line 660R runs every hour Movia to Stege on Møn. The journey takes about 40 minutes.

Ferry from Langeland to Lolland

A motorway bridge on the E 47 (Copenhagen – Rødby) runs from Zealand to Falster. There are also fixed road connections between Falster and Lolland. Møn can be reached from Zealand via a bridge on Primærrute 59 (Copenhagen – Stege). Coming from Germany, you can take the car ferry Puttgarden- Use Rødbyhavn. Primærrute 9 leads from Funen via Langeland and the Spodsbjerg – Tårs ferry to Lolland.

By boat

  • From Puttgarden (Fehmarn) to Rødby
  • Of Rostock to Gedser in 1½ hours, several times a day.

By bicycle

The islands are connected to one another by bridges (road, rail). Some have footbridges and cycle paths.

The private railway company Lokaltog operates the regional railway line (Lollandsbanen) Nykøbing F. – Sakskøbing – Maribo – Søllested – Nakskov. The trains run every half hour until 8 p.m. on weekdays and every hour in the late evening and on weekends.
