Lucignano is a city of Tuscany.
To know
Lucignano is a well-preserved medieval hill town in southern Tuscany. It is characterized by an oval or elliptical shape. It has a population of around 3,500 and is located at 400m. above sea level in the middle of an agricultural area that produces olives, grapes, cereals and sunflowers. It is part of the most beautiful villages in Italy.

By car
The city is located a few kilometers north-west of the connection between the A1 motorway that connects Rome is Florence and the highway that connects Siena with Perugia. Traveling from Florence, leave the Autostrada a Monte San Savino. Traveling from Rome, starting from Valdichiana following the signs for Siena. After a few kilometers, turn right. Each of these roads will eventually lead you to Lucignano.

From Thursday to Sunday, from 10am to 5pm or 6pm on weekends. Only a few pieces here but all of some interest. Particularly noteworthy is a reliquary known as "The Tree of Life," which is a gilded, jeweled tree with a crucified figure on top. Built between 1350 and 1471 by Ugolino da Vieri and Gabriello D'Antonio and coming from the church of San Francesco. - 2 Palazzo Pretorio. XII century, seat of the Municipality.

With access to a car, Lucignano is a good base for exploring southern Tuscany and northern Umbria. Florence, Siena, Arezzo, Chianti, Cortona, and Perugia are all within an hour or so, along with a host of smaller, but equally charming places.
