The Mürz Valley is the valley system of the Mürz and lies in the Upper Styria in Austria. The Mürz Valley is together with the Upper Murtal one of the most important industrial regions in Austria; Tourism is also increasingly being used.
Regions
- Mürz Valley
- Commonly one understands by Mürz Valley only the approximately 40 km long, straight north-east-south-west course of the Mürz with its relatively wide valley of Mürzzuschlag up to its confluence in Bruck an der Mur. Geographically, this valley train becomes together with the Upper Murtal to Judenburg as Mur-Mürz furrow designated.
- Mürzer Oberland
- The uppermost section of the Mürz from Mürzzuschlag upstream direction Lahnsattel (from there to Mariazell) forms a mostly narrow and winding valley called Mürzer Oberland.
The entire valley of the Mürz is part of the relatively young tourist region Hochsteiermark.

Other goals
The Mürz Valley is bounded by two mountain ranges:
- Mürzsteg Alps in the North
- Fischbach Alps in the south
The following can be reached from the Mürz Valley in the vicinity:
background
The Mürz Valley as part of the Mur-Mürz Furche developed into an industrial area in the past. From the 1980s, there was an increased emigration from this region for economic reasons (decline in industrial sectors). Since then, attempts have been made to use tourism as a further source of income. The tourist region has existed since the 1990s Hochsteiermark, which advertises the area of eastern Upper Styria as a destination.
language
As in the rest of Upper Styria, the Styrian dialect of Austrian German is spoken, but not in its strongest form.
