How to orient yourself
How to get
By car
- From Sousse, follow the RR 82 road, south-east, from Sahline, Bennane, Moknine is Bekalta.
- From Monastir, take the RR 94 southbound to Khniss and then the RR 92 along the coast. TO Sayada it joins the RR 82 road, which you follow towards the south-east.
- From Al-Kairouan, take the RN 12, heading east (towards Sousse). About 4 km later Ghabghoub, turn right (east) onto the C 100th street to M'Saken. Here, turn right (south), on the RN 1 road, which we leave, for the RR 88 road (south-east direction), for Bourjine. TO Jemmal, take the road on the right (south-east) which leads to Goods Hassen is Menzel Fersi.
- From Sfax, the fastest is to take the A1 motorway north (direction Tunis). At junction 18, Bou Merdes / Mahdia, it joins the RR 96 road, which we take to the east.

Great Mosque of Mahdia
- 2 Great Mosque of Mahdia (الجامع الكبير في المهدية al-Jāmiʿ al-kabīr fī al-Mahdiyya). Located on the southern side of the peninsula on which the old city was located; built in 916 AD, after the founding of the city within the walls built by the Fatimid Caliphate on an artificial platform reclaimed from the sea.

The lighthouse

- 6 Mahdia Lighthouse. This lighthouse is located in a very beautiful coastal area of the city, next to the lighthouse itself there is an Islamic cemetery made up of characteristic white tombs not to be missed.

- 14 Mustapha Hamza Mosque. A small mosque with a graceful minaret.
