Makarska is a city in Dalmatia and gives its name to the Makarska Riviera, a narrow stretch of coast between the Biokovo-Karst Mountains and the Adriatic Sea.

getting there

Makarska can be reached by car or bus within an hour Split to be reached either on the coastal road or the new motorway. Dubrovnik is about 2.5 hours further south by car.

Split also has the nearest major ferry port (connections to Rijeka, Zadar andDubrovnik), Train station (with connections to Zagreb) and airport.
