- 1 Cathar trail (Port-la-Nouvelle) – The Cathar trail is a hiking trail of 250 km which goes from Port-la-Nouvelle to Foix. It is divided into 12 steps of approximately 25 km each. Each stage ends in a village with accommodation and a restaurant. The route can be taken in any season but part of the path located in Ariège is snowy. This path allows the discovery of many castles and landscapes of the departments ofAude andAriège. There are routes suitable for mountain bikes and horses, see the information on the site.
- 2 Pech de Bugarach summit (1 230 m) (Bugarach) – The Pech de Bugarach is the highest point of the Corbières massif at 1 230 m. The hike to reach the top is done in half a day. There are two paths. The most popular part of the Col du Linas above the village of Bugarach, it is shaded therefore cooler in summer. Another path starts from the village itself, you have to follow the Cathar trail then a variant of the GR36. These paths are to be avoided in winter conditions because the surroundings of the peaks are steep. The panorama from the summit stretches 360 ° over the Corbières and the chain of Pyrenees.
- Road bike – Les Corbières is an interesting place for road cycling. The roads are small departmental with low to very low traffic. By moving away from the main axes one can enjoy isolated and calm roads. The climate is rather dry, rain during the summer months is rare and the days can be sunny all year round. The temperature is pleasant in the spring and can get very hot in the summer as the roads are exposed to the sun. The wind is an important element to prepare its circuit, the prevailing wind is the Cers which circulates in the lower valley of the Aude, the reliefs being much less exposed. The relief of the Corbières is hilly, but the northeast is rather flat and the altitude is less than 200 m. Throughout the center of the massif the roads take a large number of small passes at an altitude of between 300 m and 600 m. The south-east allows you to climb a little higher in altitude and find longer coasts. We can cite as examples the passes of Redoulade (705 m), Saint-Louis (695 m) and Fage (731 m).
