Eat

Food

For travelers who like or need to prepare their meals, the easiest and safest way, hygienically speaking, is to get their supplies from one of the mass distribution chains such as TSN or Nono.

There are two markets in Mwanza, the fish and vegetable market as well as a more general one. You have to go for the atmosphere, the colors and the scents while being careful of pickpockets and not showing your mobile phones or cameras too conspicuously. If you are going to buy fish, it is better to go very early as there are many stalls outside in the full sun. It is also good practice to ask the shopkeeper for permission to photograph his display.
