Melecey is a municipality and a village of Haute-Saone possessing an old saltworks fairly well preserved an old cemetery with cast iron crosses.

Story
Mélecey depended on the seigneury of the priory of Marast.
A saline exploits brine on the territory of the village to extract rock salt in the second half of the 19th century.
Coal mines were also exploited in and around the town after the agreement of a concession on September 29, 1843. It closed in 1865 after a firedamp shot was killed 10 miners.

- 1 Old saltworks – Unique heritage in the department, buildings and fireplace relatively preserved and clearly visible from the road.
- 2 Old cemetery – In addition to the tombstones, the cemetery is adorned with many crosses in cast iron and wrought iron which were made in the foundry of Fallon, neighboring villages.

- 1 Fallon – While Mélecey is marked by the history of salt, the neighboring village of Fallon is marked by the history of iron with the presence of mines and a foundry. Both villages have also mined small amounts of charcoal.
