Nadi is a center on the island of Viti Levu in Fiji.
To know
For most tourists Nadi is the business card of Fiji thanks to its proximity to the international airport to which it owes its development.
Nadi is in fact the second urban center of the Fiji after the capital Suva. It is a place devoted to tourism as evidenced by its countless hotels, restaurants and souvenir shops. The majority of its inhabitants is made up of Indo-Fijians who live, in addition to tourism, from the cultivation of sugar cane.
Nadi also represents the springboard for the neighbors Yasawa Islands is Mamanuca Islands reachable by hydrofoil as well as by plane.
How to orient yourself
Nadi center: full screen map.The center of Nadi extends a few kilometers south of the airport around the Queen's Road and gathers around the Sri Siva Subramaniya temple, the city's only attraction. The cheapest hotels are concentrated in the center and there are some essential services, the picturesque market, the post office, the suburban bus station.
If from the center you take theNarewa Road you will reach the beaches of Wailoaloa and of Denarau equipped with numerous hotels. The hotels in Wailoaloa are cheap, suitable for young and penniless students, while those in Denarau attract a wealthier clientele. Individual travelers are unlikely to find a place there in the high season (July August) as their rooms have already been booked by Tour Operators Australians, New Zealanders is Californians. Note that the waters of Wailoaloa are so shallow that you can barely swim.
Denarau beach is located on the islet of the same name separated from the mainland by a narrow channel. It is equipped with a pier from which the hydrofoils set sail for Mamanuca Islands and the Yasawa Islands.

By bus
The bus station is next to the market. The buses of the two major bus lines operating in Viti Levu, la Sunbeam Transport and Pacific Transport. The buses of both companies are equipped with air conditioning.

There are many agencies at Nadi airport that can book your hotel for you. Contacting them instead of contacting one of the hotels listed below directly can save you money. The best known of these agencies is Rosie The Travel Service. However, keep in mind that some hotels launch offers and discounts in certain periods.
